Fulham have been trying to sign Hojbjerg from Tottenham, but are encountering difficulty when it comes to convincing the player of the move.
Now the Cottagers’ task has become even more difficult as Atletico Madrid are in for Hojbjerg.
The Spanish giants have made Tottenham the offer of a loan, which includes an obligation to buy.
What level the obligation is set at is unclear, but Hojbjerg could prefer a move to Spain before the transfer window shuts.
Tottenham are prepared to let the Dane leave as they continue their rebuild under Ange Postecoglou.
The clock is ticking down on the transfer window though and Atletico Madrid will want any deal agreed quickly.
