The Wolves hierarchy decided to part ways with Julen Lopetegui just before the beginning of the ongoing season and quickly appointed O’Neil as the Spanish tactician’s successor.

The Midlands outfit are determined not to repeat last season’s struggles, but they have began the season in a rocky manner with only three points from four games.

However, Gomes is of the view that Wolves are on the right path and he added that O’Neil needs a little bit more time to implement his style.

The Wolverhampton star also added that the Wolves boss is a knowledgeable person with good methods and thinks that everyone needs to be patient to see what he is trying to achieve with the team.

“Our new manager has good methods and gives us a lot of confidence for the year ahead”, Gomes was quoted as saying by Express & Star.

“He’s really knowledgeable and he just needs a little more time to carry out his work methods, because it’s not an easy or a quick process.

“It takes time to get there, so we need to be patient, but I think we’re on the right path.”

Wolves are set to take on Liverpool this weekend at Molineux before they travel to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town.
