Ward-Prowse joined West Ham in the last transfer window from Southampton and has made a brilliant start to life at the London Stadium.
He has scored two goals and laid on three assists for his teammates in four Premier League appearances for the east London club already this season.
He has been key to West Ham making a good start to the Premier League campaign and Coufal admitted that he never saw such a level of impact coming.
The West Ham star admitted that there was a certain expectation when Ward-Prowse joined but no one anticipated that he would end up being so important for the team at this stage of the season.
“I love our signings”, Coufal told the London Evening Standard.
“We knew what to expect from James Ward-Prowse, but I didn’t expect what he has done so far.
“He has two goals and three assists — it’s absolutely amazing.
“I didn’t see him score so much at Southampton.”
The defender is also a massive fan of new boy Mohammed Kudus and the versatility that he brings to the squad.
“And Kudus is a gifted player who has almost everything: power, strength, technique, skill.
“I don’t know his main position.”
