Leicester boss Enzo Maresca signed Manchester City talent Doyle on a season-long loan this summer and the defender has started all eight league games for the Foxes.

During last weekend’s Bristol City game, Doyle suffered an injury in the first half and Justin came in to replace him.

Piper believes that Justin is quicker than anyone in Leicester’s backline and believes his presence in defence is reassuring.

The former Foxes star is of the view that Justin could be a silver lining for Leicester if the Manchester City loanee is out due to injury for a long time.

“I wouldn’t say bonus because I hate to use the word when someone is injured, but James Justin came on and played really well”, Piper said on BBC Radio Leicester.

“He looks comfortable on either of those left or right sides of the three.

“He has a little more pace than anyone in the backline.

“Listen Vestergaard has been really good in the last few games, but you are always a little fearful when the transition is against us.

“With James Justin in the backline, it feels a bit more assured. Well, I do anyway.

“So silver linings and all that, but let’s hope he is not out for long.”

Justin has featured six times for Leicester this season and it remains to be seen whether Maresca will keep faith in the 25-year-old in the absence of Doyle.
