Portsmouth are at the top of the league table with 19 points from nine games and are undefeated in their league games.

John Mousinho will now take his team to the DW Stadium to lock horns with Wigan Athletic, who are in the bottom half of the league table due to their eight-point deduction.

Maloney believes that Portsmouth have a great number nine in Colby Bishop, who has scored five goals in nine games.

He added that Portsmouth will try to play through his team but warned that theLatics are ready to go toe-to-toe with Mousinho’s side.

“Portsmouth have won one more game than us and they are a really good team who will look to try and play through us”, Maloney told Latics TV.

“They have a good number nine who is very good on long balls so let’s go toe to toe and see what we have.”

Portsmouth lost their last visit to the DW Stadium in 2021 as Callum Lang helped the home side secure a 1-0 victory.
