Derby managed to snatch a victory over Notts County on Tuesday in the EFL Trophy and extended their unbeaten run to seven games.

The Rams are determined to earn promotion this season and are sitting eighth in the league table with 18 points from eleven games.

Barker thinks that Derby have been competitive in every game in which they have participated this season and stressed that Paul Warne’s side have been difficult to beat in the ongoing campaign.

He also pointed out that with players returning from injuries, Derby are keep getting fitter and stronger and he pointed out that the Rams have shown this season that they can be unplayable at times.

“As a whole, we have been difficult to beat”, Barker told RamsTV.

“We have always been in every game we have played in, in terms of being competitive.

“I think we have seen signs in games where we could have kind of taken it to the teams earlier and made more of the opportunities.

“A good example is tonight.

“There is another level to it with the players coming back; all of a sudden, that squad is getting stronger and stronger and it is getting fitter and fitter and we have seen glimpses in games where we are unplayable.”

Derby will be back in action against Shrewsbury Town after the international break on 21st October.
