The Canaries extended their winless run in the league to four games after a defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough at Carrow Road on Tuesday.

Norwich are going through a bad patch of form and former players and the Canaries faithful have pointed fingers at their tendency to concede sloppy goals as one of the reasons behind their poor start to the season.

Wagner stressed that Norwich cannot afford to give away cheap goals and added that the goals they conceded on Tuesday were due to individual errors rather than tactical mistakes.

The Norwich boss stated that the team have to be more solid at the back and believes that they need to find ways to keep clean sheets.

“At the end of the day, we did not create enough offensively and obviously defensively; as I said, the goals we gave away were quite sloppy”, Wagner told Norwich’s media.

“This is something we cannot afford.

“We have to make sure we find a way to get clean sheets to be more solid and to be totally honest, the goals we conceded were not goals that we conceded because of a mistake in the tactical approach; they were more individual moments where the boys lost concentration.”

This weekend, Norwich City are set to take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to bounce back on Saturday.
