The 21-year-old Norwich academy product is very highly rated at Carrow Road and he made his debut for the Canaries in the EFL Cup this season.

On Sunday, Warner made his league debut in front of the Norwich home crowd against Blackburn but failed to help David Wagner’s side to victory.

Jarvis pointed out that defensively, Norwich were poor on Sunday but insisted that Warner did not perform badly in defence.

The ex-Norwich star added that Warner tightly marked his man and stated the 21-year-old looked assured in the Canaries backline despite his side conceding three goals.

Defensively, we were poor, but that did not necessarily come from Warner”, Jarvis said on BBC Radio Norfolk.

“I was watching him quite closely and he was doing his best to stay tight with his man and he looked quite assured, to be honest.

“The goals, like I said, did not come from anything that Warner did or did not do.”

Several former players have expressed concerns regarding Norwich City’s defence this season and all eyes will be on Warner to see whether he will be able to give the Canaries stability in the backline.
