Pompey have lost their summer signing Regan Poole for the rest of this current campaign as he is currently recovering from an ACL injury he suffered on his left knee.

30-year-old Raggett replaced Poole in the right central defender role on Saturday against Charlton Athletic, where Pompey drew the match 2-2.

Even though it was only Raggett’s second start in the league this term, Rafferty stressed that Raggett was brilliant against the Addicks.

The full-back admitted that Raggett is the type of player who is not fearful of putting his body on the line for his team, which shows his warrior mentality.

“But we’ve got Raggs, who was brilliant on Saturday”, Rafferty told The News about Raggett’s performance against the Addicks.

“He has played more than 200 times for this club, he’s a brilliant centre-half, puts his head where it hurts, tackles everything, complete warrior.”

Raggett will be looking to keep his place in the team when John Mousinho’s side face Blackpool on 25th November, following the current international break.
