Phillips has been a bit part player for Manchester City this season so far and is open to a move to secure regular game time.

Juventus are keen on signing the Manchester City midfielder on loan in the January transfer window.

However, Juventus would need to make a financial commitment to sign Phillips and that is something they need to cover.

As such, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Juventus may need to offload Illing-Junior to fund a move for Phillips.

Iling-Junior is also struggling to get regular game time under Massimiliano Allegri and has Premier League interest.

Both Tottenham and Newcastle are interested in signing the player and news that Juventus may be under extra pressure to cash in will be welcome.

It is suggested it may also kick any move to Italy for Phillips until later on in next month’s transfer window, adding as it does an extra layer to the operation.
