Crystal Palace are not currently in talks with Steve Cooper about him succeeding Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Hodgson is under big pressure at Crystal Palace following a poor run of form from the Eagles.

It has been suggested that Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Brentford could be the last chance saloon for the veteran tactician.

Former Nottingham Forest boss Cooper has been tipped as Hodgson’s most likely replacement amid some suggestions that talks have already been held.

However, that is wide of the mark and Cooper and Palace are not currently in talks.

The capital club look to be giving Hodgson every opportunity to steady to ship at Selhurst Park.

Cooper was recently sacked by Nottingham Forest amid worries about the club being dragged into the relegation dogfight in the Premier League.

The Welshman’s successor, Nuno, led Nottingham Forest to a 3-1 win away at Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
