Derby County boss Paul Warne is of the view that Peterborough United are the best team in League One and warned the Rams players of the threat Posh’s wide players possess.

On Friday night, the Rams managed to win against Oxford United 3-2 despite conceding two early goals in the first half.

Next on New Year’s Day, Derby are set to welcome third-placed Peterborough United, who are unbeaten in their last seven league games, to Pride Park.

Warne is of the view that Darren Ferguson’s side are the best team in the league and pointed out that Peterborough are strong in a lot of departments.

The Derby boss also warned his players that Peterborough’s wingers carry threats and stressed that they have to be at their best to deal with them.

“I think Peterborough are the best team in the league currently”, Warne told Rams TV.

“Their wide players cause problems and they are really quick and create loads of chances.

“We look at the KPIs of the opposition with us and more often than not, we have stronger figures, but they are really strong in a lot of departments, so again, for us to beat them, we will have to be at our best and hopefully we will be and hopefully it will be a game that people enjoy.”

Both sides met each other in August this season and Derby came out victorious with a 4-2 scoreline.
