Serie A giants Napoli are prepared to try and land Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg even if they manage to sign Lazar Samardzic in the January transfer window.
Napoli have struggled to maintain last season’s level, when they won Serie A at a canter, and are sitting eighth in the league table at the moment.
The club are pushing to add more quality to their squad in January and especially, in the middle of the park.
Samardzic has been their top target and the club are in talks to sign him on a deal worth €25m but they have not lost track of Hojbjerg.
According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport (via Tutto Napoli), Napoli are keen to try and sign the Spurs midfielder even if they land Samardzic.
The Dane has been a bit part player at Spurs and the club are open to letting him go in January.
Tottenham are prepared to loan him out if there is a mandatory purchase clause in the agreement, which is a problem for Napoli.
However, Serie A giants are still pushing to find an opening in negotiations with the north London club.
Juventus are also after Hojbjerg, but even they are not prepared to offer more than an option to buy in any loan agreement.
