Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is likely to be prohibitively expensive for Aston Villa this month, according to The Athletic.

Aston Villa are in the market for a right-back as Unai Emery wants more depth in his full-back options going forward.

Frimpong is one of the players the Villans have been tracking and he has been regularly linked with a move away from Leverkusen.

The 23-year-old is rated highly for his attacking ability and has five goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga this season.

But a move for Frimpong this month is highly unlikely for Aston Villa due to the potential costs of the deal.

It has been claimed that the defender is likely to be prohibitively expensive for Villa in the ongoing transfer window.

Any move for him this month would eat into their budget for the next summer transfer window.

Frimpong has a contract until 2028 with Leverkusen and the German club are under no real pressure to sell him at the moment.
