Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is still Tottenham Hotspur’s top target if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leaves this month, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.

Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from Tottenham and several clubs in Italy are interested in signing him on loan in the winter window.

Tottenham are open to loan offers with a view to buy and are also keen to line up a replacement before agreeing to let the Dane leave.

Spurs have been tracking several midfielders but it has been claimed that Gallagher is still their top target.

Tottenham have been chasing the Chelsea star since last summer and are keen to get their hands on him in January.

Gallagher does not want to leave but he has 18 months left on his contract and talks over a new deal have not progressed yet.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to keep him and is pushing Chelsea to sort out a new contract for him soon.

However, Chelsea are open to selling the player if they receive a fee in the region of £45m to £50m this month.

Chelsea may need to sell players to raise funds to bring in fresh reinforcements in the winter window.
