FC Metz are in talks with Watford to secure a deal to sign midfielder Imran Louza on loan this month, it has been claimed in France.

The 24-year-old midfielder joined Watford in 2021 from Nantes but he has fallen down the pecking order this season at Vicarage Road.

He has played just 62 minutes of Championship football this season and has been on the fringes of the Watford first-team squad.

The Championship outfit are open to letting him go in January as he has become surplus to requirements at the club.

And according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Metz are in the mix to sign the midfielder on loan for the rest of the season.

Negotiations are under way between the two clubs on the basis of a loan deal for Louza to move to Metz this month.

The French club are sitting 14th in Ligue 1 and are looking for reinforcements to boost their chances of survival this season.

They are prepared to give the former Nantes man a platform to play regular first-team football in the latter half of the campaign.
