Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has an agreement in principle to join Bayern Munich, but a switch to Germany is not yet clear.

Dier is out of contract in the summer and is out of favour with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.

He is expected to leave north London either this month or in the summer and has been attracting interest from clubs in Italy.

It appears that Dier wants to go to Bayern Munich though and, according to Sky Deutschland, he has a verbal agreement in principle to join the Bavarians now.

It is unclear whether any move now would be on loan or on a permanent basis, with no final decision having been made.

Bayern Munich are looking at a number of potential defensive options they could bring in this month though.

Coach Thomas Tuchel is keen to see fresh faces arrive as soon as possible.

If Dier does move to Bayern Munich he would link up with his former Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Harry Kane at the German giants.

West Ham meanwhile have ended their interest in Dier.
