Strasbourg want to bring in a replacement before sanctioning Matz Sels’ proposed move to Nottingham Forest on deadline day, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
Nottingham Forest are in the market for a goalkeeper and Sels has emerged as the top target on the final day of the transfer window.
Negotiations are under way between Forest and Strasbourg over a transfer and the French club are prepared to accept the €7m offer from the Premier League side.
Sels is also sold on the move and is prepared to fly out to England today to complete the transfer.
However, a key component is still missing as Strasbourg want a proper replacement for the goalkeeper before letting him go.
The French club have already started working on bringing in a new goalkeeper to replace Sels in the team.
They are ready to sell the Belgian but for the moment, they do not have a replacement lined up.
Strasbourg are prepared to block his move to Nottingham Forest if they fail to bring in a suitable replacement before the window closes tonight.
