Stoke City are in talks to sign Blackburn Rovers’ 24-year-old forward Niall Ennis, who has been a transfer target for multiple League One clubs this month, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Stoke find themselves in a precarious situation at the moment wherein they are fighting relegation from the Championship and remain one of the lowest goalscorers in the division.

In an attempt to add their attacking options for the remainder of the season, Stoke are now focusing on Blackburn’s 24-year-old striker.

Though Ennis has not been that successful as a Blackburn Rovers player since his move to Ewood Park in May last year, Stoke believe he can do the business.

In 97 appearances for his former club Plymouth Argyle, Ennis made 36 goal contributions, figures that did not go unnoticed.

Stoke have now entered into negotiations with Blackburn to sign Ennis.

Ennis has been linked with a move away this month with League One clubs Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley being in the race.

Both of those clubs are yet to make progress with their interest though.
