Rangers new boy Mohamed Diomande believes that given his age there is a lot of development left in him and Ibrox is the right place for him to nurture his talents.

With just a few days remaining in the January transfer window, the Gers managed to rope in the young prospect from Danish side Nordsjaelland, initially on loan until the end of the season.

While the 22-year-old gets accustomed to life in Glasgow, still getting to know his new team-mates, he took time to give an insight into the thought process that had led to him moving to Scotland in the first place.

Rangers are known for nurturing young talents and Diomande insists that after speaking with manager Philippe Clement and coming to know about the 49-year-old’s desire to have him in his ranks, a conviction grew in him to be part of the Rangers squad.

“I think there is still a lot of development to do because I am still only 22″, Diomande said in an interview with his club’s official website.

“I feel like I have gained a lot of experience during my time in Denmark and in Ghana.

“When I spoke to the manager, he knew why he wanted me, so I knew it was the right place to be because there are a lot of good young players here.

“There are also a lot of experienced players, so it is a good environment for me to continue my career and hopefully win a lot of trophies with the team.”

Rangers have an obligation to buy Diomande at the end of his loan spell for an undisclosed fee.
