New Rangers signing Mohamed Diomande has revealed that having heard of the Gers since he was a little kid, he was excited about the prospect of joining the Scottish giants and told his agent to get it done.

The Glasgow giants managed to sign the young midfielder on loan from Danish side Nordsjaelland towards the end of January, beating off competition from other clubs.

The 22-year-old, in his first interview with Rangers’ official website, revealed that the name Rangers was not new to him having heard it since he was a child.

Therefore, when he heard about the interest from Rangers he at once told his agent to make it happen.

“When I first heard Rangers were interested, I was like wow, I know it is a big club and I have heard of it since I was a little kid”, Diomande said.

“I told my agent we need to make it happen because I have heard a lot about the club.”

Now that Diomande is a part of Rangers the aim for him is to help the team win something eventually.

“It is a really ambitious club, so I want to contribute and win some things as a football player.”

Diomande has an obligatory purchase option in his contract with the Gers and is set to sign a four-year contract in the summer.
