Sydney van Hooijdonk has admitted that he will try to do his best to convince Norwich City to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer as he wants some stability in his career.

The Dutch striker joined Norwich from Italian side Bologna on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Norwich did manage to secure an option to buy in the loan agreement and the forward indicated that his long-term goal is to stay at Carrow Road.

Van Hooijdonk conceded that he wants some stability in his career and not having to change clubs constantly.

He is keen to do whatever is necessary in the coming months with his performances to convince Norwich to turn his loan into a permanent deal in the summer transfer window.

The striker told Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad: “I am longing to have a little more stability again and not having to keep packing my bags.

“I am going to do my best to leave a good impression on Norwich, who have agreed to an option to buy.

“After that, it’s up to the club and what they want next summer.”

The forward made his debut for Norwich last weekend when he came on for a minute in his side’s 2-1 win over Coventry City.
