Norwich City loanee Sydney van Hooijdonk is eyeing a Wembley trip at the end of the season as the Canaries push for a playoff spot.

The Canaries have recovered from a horrendous start to the season and are in the mix to fight for a spot in the promotion playoffs in the Championship.

They are sitting ninth in the Championship table but are just a point behind Hull City who are occupying sixth position in the standings.

Van Hooijdonk, who joined Norwich on loan from Bologna in the winter transfer window, is excited about fighting for promotion to the Premier League this season.

The Dutchman conceded that playing at Wembley and in the Premier League is something he has dreamt about all his career, which is the reason he is looking forward to the next few months at Norwich.

The striker told Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad: “We are still fighting for the playoffs.

“So yes, who knows, maybe I will be back at Wembley soon, not as a spectator but as a footballer.

“It would be a dream come true, just like playing in the Premier League.

“That’s why I am really looking forward to my time here.”

It remains to be seen whether Van Hooijdonk gets a start when Norwich take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Sunday.
