Barry Ferguson has warned Rangers that they cannot afford to lose focus on their goal because, even though Celtic are going through a bad patch, the Bhoys know how to win titles.
Rangers were seven points behind their city rivals Celtic when Philippe Clement took charge of the Ibrox outfit in October.
Now the Gers have managed to close the gap to three points by utilising Brendan Rodgers team’s dip in form and Clement’s side have a game in hand.
However, Ferguson cautioned Rangers that they should not lose their focus just because Celtic are not in their best form and reminded them that Rodgers’ Celtic know how to win titles.
The ex-Rangers star advised them to be respectful of Celtic’s abilities and stated that they should focus on their games.
“Listen, Celtic may be having a dip themselves at the moment and they certainly weren’t great at Easter Road”, Ferguson wrote in his Daily Record column.
“But they know how to win titles, so Rangers have got to go out with a single-minded focus every week.
“They can’t afford to wake up on a Saturday morning with a thought of, ‘Maybe they will drop points today’.
“No, you have to go out thinking they are going to win every week because that is what keeps your own mind concentrated on picking up results.
“Rangers simply have to be mega-focused over the next three and a half months.”
Rangers are set to take on Ayr United at the weekend in the Scottish Cup before they face Ross County next week.
