Jon Dahl Tomasson has been saying his final goodbyes to the players and staff at the training ground ahead of leaving Blackburn Rovers, according to journalist Alan Myers.

Tomasson has resigned from his role as Blackburn manager and is expected to leave the club today.

The Dane had major disagreements with the club’s board over budget cuts and was further infuriated after Blackburn messed up the potential signing of Duncan McGuire.

He has taken a financial hit by resigning rather than being sacked by the Championship club.

It has been claimed that the former striker is now at Blackburn’s training base to say his final goodbyes.

Blackburn came close to getting into the playoff spots last season under his tutelage but barely missed out on goal difference

However, recent form has been poor and Tomasson was left frustrated by the club’s board.

He is saying his final goodbyes to the players and staff and is due to leave the training base shortly.

Blackburn are tipped to announce the name of John Eustace as their new manager in the coming hours.
