Kenny Miller has insisted that Philippe Clement will not underestimate Ayr but he is expecting Rangers to comfortably secure passage to the next round of the Scottish Cup.

Rangers will shift focus from the league to the Scottish Cup when they host Scottish Championship side Ayr at Ibrox in the fifth round of the competition this evening.

The Glasgow giants are firm favourites to take care of the job against Ayr but Miller is certain that Clement will not make the mistake of underestimating Scott Brown’s side.

The former Rangers striker feels that whatever team the Gers boss selects today should be strong enough to beat Ayr and he is expecting a straightforward win without much hassle for the home side.

Miller said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “I don’t think he will underestimate Ayr.

“He will pick a team that he thinks is more than capable and like all managers say, they trust their players and anybody in the squad should be good enough to represent the club and win the game.

“It will be straightforward for Rangers.

“Everything that surrounds us – the energy they have got going on at the moment, the momentum and the belief.

“You expect Rangers to go through comfortably.”

Rangers have already won the Scottish League Cup and Clement has insisted that his team will look to win every competition they are in.
