Hammerby sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg has admitted that there has been great interest in winger Viktor Djukanovic, who is drawing admiring glances from Tottenham Hotspur.

The London-based club have closely scouting Sweden and have already secured a deal for Djurgarden’s teenage midfielder Lucas Bergvall, with the player set to arrive in the summer.

Now they have shifted their attention to 20-year-old winger Djukanovic, according to Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt, with Johan Lange tracking him from the autumn.

Hammarby’s sporting director Hjelmberg is coy when it comes to speaking about Tottenham’s interest directly, but is prepared to confirm that Djukanovic is a wanted man.

“I cannot comment on what is going on”, Hjelmberg said.

“But the interest has been great and still is.”

Arriving at Hammarby in January last year, Djukanovic has proven his presence in front of goal for the Swedish club, finding the back of the net 13 times in 33 matches overall.

Djukanovic has a long-term contract with the club running until the end of December 2027 and it remains to be seen how much Tottenham are willing to pay for him if they decide to pursue their interest.
