Rangers legend Barry Ferguson feels that there are early signs that the Gers have signed a talented player in Oscar Cortes.
The Glasgow giants signed the Colombian winger on loan with an option to buy from French club Lens in the January transfer window.
He made two substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership before getting his first start in a Rangers shirt on Saturday against Ayr in the Scottish Cup at Ibrox.
Cortes laid on an assist in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Ayr and Ferguson was left impressed with what he saw in the winger at the weekend.
The former Rangers captain insisted that the player is still young and is only starting out in Scottish football but feels there is enough to suggest that he is brimming with talent.
Ferguson said on the Go Radio Football Show: “Cortes looked decent.
“He is very direct, very quick.
“But listen it’s only his first game and he is only 20 years of age.
“But you can certainly see there is a player in there.”
Cortes will hope to get a first league start on Wednesday night when Rangers take on Ross County at Ibrox.
