Former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch has claimed that Dujon Sterling is an underrated talent in the Gers squad who made the difference against St. Johnstone on Sunday.
A 3-0 win over St. Johnstone at the weekend took Rangers two points clear to the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
However, it was not all easy going for Rangers at McDiarmid Park on Sunday as St. Johnstone fought hard and kept themselves in the game.
Sterling came on for the second half and his energetic performance on the right flank played a key role as Rangers secured the maximum points.
The 24-year-old has made just four league starts this season and McCulloch feels he remains a very underrated performer in the Rangers squad.
He believes that Sterling both has the physical and the technical qualities to get more opportunities moving forward.
The former Rangers star said on BBC Radio Scotland: “I think he is very underrated.
“Physically he is very quick, explosive, strong, great for set-plays, for and against, and he can play as he is technically a good player.
“Coming on, he has shown a bit of desire and it will be interesting to see if he plays the next game.”
Sterling will hope that he did enough on Sunday to get a starting berth when Rangers host Hearts at Ibrox next weekend.
