Daniel Farke has insisted that Leicester City will finish in the Championship’s top two regardless of their result against Leeds United on Friday night.
Leeds and Leicester are set to face each other in a top-of-the-table clash in the Championship at Elland Road later this week.
The Whites have won their last eight games on the trot, which has propelled them to second in the league table, while league leaders Leicester are coming into the game on the back of a home defeat to Middlesbrough.
Their clash on Friday night is attracting a massive spotlight but Farke feels the result on Friday night is unlikely to change the course of Leicester’s season.
He insisted that regardless of what happens at Elland Road later this week, the Foxes will finish in the top two and earn automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the campaign.
Farke said in a press conference: “I spoke quite openly about the situation, even if we win this game, this side [Leicester] will still finish in the top two.
“We want to achieve a special amount of wins to finish in the best possible position, but there’s a lot of work to do.”
Leeds are hoping to put on a show and produce a statement win over the league leaders on Friday night.
