West Ham United have regrets about chasing a new manager in a public manner and do not want to announce Julen Lopetegui’s appointment until the end of the season when David Moyes will leave, according to the Evening Standard.

The Hammers confirmed on Monday that Moyes will be leaving the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

West Ham have a deal in place with Lopetegui to become their new manager and an announcement was expected this week.

However, the Hammers want to wait until the end of the season to confirm the Spaniard’s appointment.

It has been claimed that West Ham regret the way their new manager pursuit has publicly played out.

With Moyes still in charge of the club, West Ham believe it was disrespectful towards the Scot to chase his successor in a public manner.

Therefore, the club are now willing to wait until the end of the season to announce Lopetegui as their new manager following Moyes’ official departure.

The Spaniard is excited about taking charge of West Ham and rejected overtures from Bayern Munich in favour of joining the Hammers.
