Real Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that Crystal Palace target Chadi Riad is in talks regarding a move and will not be involved against Real Madrid.

Crystal Palace are big admirers of Real Betis centre-back Riad and have been holding talks to sign him.

The London outfit’s first bid fell short of Real Betis’ expectations, but it is suggested a deal is close with a new offer in.

Now in a sign a deal is close to happening, Pellegrini has admitted transfer talks are ongoing.

“Chadi Riad is in talks to be transferred”,  Pellegrini said in a press conference.

The centre-back will not be part of Real Betis squad travelling to Santiago Bernabeu and Riad is expected to complete his medical with Crystal Palace on Monday.

He is one of the lowest paid members of the Real Betis squad and is keen to move.

Now if all goes well, then the 20-year-old centre-back will be the first signing for Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.
