Arsenal have offered Bayern Munich target Chido Obi Martin an improved contract as they aim to keep hold of the player amidst rising interest, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 16-year-old has been tipped to have a bright future ahead of him and has shown his potential for Arsenal’s Under-18 squad.

In the 20 matches he has played in the Under-18 Premier League, he has found the back of the net 32 times and has caught the attention of scouts from other European clubs.

German giants Bayern Munich are particularly keen on Obi Martin, but so are Borussia Dortmund.

A move to Germany could suit him as he can sign a professional contract there despite being just 16, something that will not be possible in England.

However, Arsenal are not unaware of Obi Martin’s potential and do not want to lose him.

An offer from the Gunners was already on the table, but they have now improved it.

Mikel Arteta is also pushing for the player to stay at the Emirates Stadium and not leave.

Though no agreement has been reached yet with any of the clubs, a pathway to the first-team will be key to Obi Martin deciding his future.
