West Ham United target Diego Gomez is set to join fellow Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion after the Seagulls reached an agreement with the 21-year-old’s MLS club Inter Miami.
The midfielder has just finished international duty with Paraguay at the Olympics in Paris where his side reached the quarter-finals but lost to Egypt on penalties.
Yet to return to his MLS club Inter Miami, his future has already come up for discussion with interest in him arriving from England.
As many as two Premier League clubs – West Ham and Brighton – have shown interest in taking Gomez to England to strengthen their existing units.
However, it has now been revealed that the Hammers have lost the race and the Seagulls are set to finalise a move soon.
According to Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Brighton have reached an agreement with Inter Miami to pay around £11m for Gomez.
Another £2.3m will be played as part of performance-related add-ons.
Gomez will move to England in January after the MLS season ends and will sign a contract until June of 2029.
