La Liga side Girona have an edge over Leicester City in the pursuit of Watford winger Yaser Asprilla in the final days of the summer transfer window.

The Colombian winger could leave Watford before the transfer window slams shut a week from Friday and has been chased by several clubs throughout the summer.

Newly promoted Leicester are interested in signing the winger and are in talks to try and secure a deal for him.

However, Spanish side Girona have an edge in the race to land the Watford star in the final days of the transfer window.

According to Spanish outlet TalkGirona, the Colombian would prefer a move to Girona in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Spanish club are involved in the Champions League and Asprilla is keen to play in Europe’s premier club competition for Girona.

Personal terms are unlikely to be an issue but agreeing on a deal with Watford is likely to be more complicated.

For the moment, the distance between Girona’s offer and Watford’s asking price is wide and will require work to find a compromise.

That could open up a gap for Leicester to push their own swoop for Asprilla.
