Leeds United are considering tabling an improved offer for 1.FC Koln midfielder Dejan Ljubicic who is determined to join the Whites before next Friday’s transfer deadline.

Daniel Farke wants to bring in a midfielder before the window closes and Ljubicic is a top target for the club.

However, negotiations with Koln have been complicated as the German second-tier club are not keen to lose the player.

The German side rejected their previous offer of €4m from Leeds but the Whites are still not prepared to walk away.

According to German daily Bild (via Fussball Transfers), Leeds are pondering tabling a new and improved bid for the Austrian midfielder in the coming days.

Leeds are pushing to take him to Elland Road and has received encouragement from the player himself.

Ljubicic is also determined to move to Leeds and is putting pressure on the German club to work out an agreement.

Koln signed him on a free transfer and they would make a massive profit from his sale but the club are wary of losing him.

The German club are currently under a transfer ban and would not be able to replace Ljubicic this summer if they sell him.
