One West Ham United summer signing has stressed that it is very important for him to have a key role at any club he plays for.

The Hammers board backed their new boss Julen Lopetegui in the most recent transfer window heavily as they did a significant amount of business.

The likes of Crysencio Summerville, Guido Rodriguez, Jean-Clair Todibo, Carlos Soler and forward Niclas Fullkrug came through the door to give Lopetegui the reinforcements he wanted.

Germany international Fullkrug is yet to start a match at the London Stadium but he feels that the Hammers will try to adapt their playing style to use his strengths.

The striker also admitted that any side he plays for must provide him with an important role as he looks to make a contribution.

“It is very important to have a club in which I play a central role, where I am important”, the Hammers forward told German magazine Sport Bild.

“Where the style of play is also geared to me to some extent.”

The Irons have won only one of their opening three league matches and Fullkrug is yet to open his account at the London club.

There have been questions marks over whether Fullkrug will be fit enough to face Fulham this weekend and he may have to wait for his chance to make an impact.
