Norwich City have given Stoke City permission to hold talks with first team coach Narcis Pelach over the vacant manager’s job in the Potteries, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Stoke sacked Steven Schumacher as boss this morning following a mixed start to the new campaign.

The Potters were beaten 1-0 away at Oxford United at the weekend and it proved to be the last straw, with Schumacher given his marching orders.

Stoke are wasting no time in zeroing in on a successor and are admirers of Norwich’s young coach Pelach.

Norwich have now granted Stoke permission to hold talks with the first team coach.

If Pelach can reach an agreement with Stoke and is offered the job, he is expected to take Norwich goalkeeping coach Paul Clements with him to the Potteries.

Pelach, 36, previously worked at Huddersfield Town with current West Brom boss Carlos Corberan.

He had stints as interim manager at Huddersfield, but headed to Norwich last summer to take up a coaching role.
