Former EFL star Adrian Clarke is of the view that Cardiff City need a manager with strong character as the football knowledge in the Bluebird hierarchy is low.
Cardiff have had a difficult start of the season and they are sitting bottom of the Championship table with no wins from six games.
The Bluebirds have parted ways with Errol Bulut and there are several managers being linked with the Cardiff managerial job.
Clarke believes that anyone who comes in as the new Cardiff manager will have to possess a strong character, as he believes that the Bluebirds hierarchy lack football knowledge.
The former EFL star also pointed out that the Wales outfit have no sporting director and indicated that the job for the new manager will not be easy.
“I think it is a job for a strong character and you have to obviously deal with Vincent Tan”, Clarke said on What The EFL.
“I think the sort of footballing knowledge is a little bit low among the hierarchy at Cardiff.
“They do not have a sporting director, they sort of have a lot of loud voices, but not that much knowledge and I think you need kind of a strong character to deal with these people behind the scenes there.”
Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones is among the managers being linked with the Cardiff job and it remains to be seen who will be Bulut’s successor.
