Eintracht Frankfurt are ready to bite the bullet and keep Leeds United loan star Rasmus Kristensen on a permanent basis.

The Danish defender spent last term away from Elland Road on loan at Italian side Roma, but headed back to Leeds in the summer.

He did not remain in Yorkshire though as a fresh loan deal was negotiated which took Kristensen to the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 27-year-old has already made an impression on the German side, who view him as a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room.

They included an option to buy in the loan deal, but it was claimed recently they wanted to negotiate the price down.

Now though it seems Eintracht Frankfurt have decided to bite the bullet on Kristensen and they will trigger the clause, according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland (via Fussball Transfers).

The loan option is set at somewhere between €10m and €12m and Eintracht Frankfurt want to trigger it.

Whether they might do so as early as the January transfer window remains to be seen, but having been hugely impressed with Kristensen they are keen to make sure he stays put.
