Sevilla have been dealt a major blow after Marca confirmed striker Luis Fabiano will be out until 2010. The Brazilian striker suffered an injury to his right ankle in his club’s 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid.
Fabiano will be sorely missed as he as been on fire so far this season, scoring a staggering 13 goals in a mere 16 appearances for his club. He has also managed three goals for his country already, proving the 29-year-old is on top of his game for the 2009/10 season.
This setback comes at a bad time for manager Manolo Jimenez, who saw his side lose third position in La Liga to Valencia, after a disappointing performance at home. Sevilla have been experiencing a dip in form as of late, managing only two draws and a loss in their last three games.
