Atletico Madrid striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle looks to be on the verge of sealing a switch to Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese giants have agreed a fee with Atletico to take the 25-year-old to Portugal and bolster their attacking options.

Sinama-Pongolle has been in search of first-team football, suffering at Atletico through being behind Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero in the pecking order. At Sporting the Frenchman should get the opportunity he has been craving and Sporting for their part hope Sinama-Pongolle will give their season a much needed boost, lying as they are 5th in the league and 12 points behind city rivals Benfica.

Sporting are believed to be paying around €5-6M for Sinama-Pongolle, though the figure has not been officially disclosed.
