Real Madrid have, according to Madrid-based daily Marca, decided to make a move for Manchester United centre-back Nemanja Vidic. The La Liga giants, who recently lost Pepe to injury, have been encouraged by speculation that Vidic is keen to leave England and would welcome a move to Spain.

The 28-year-old Serbian is seen as an ideal solution to help Real bolster their defensive options and the Spanish side are confident that Vidic will not be able to resist the opportunity to pull on the famous white shirt.

Manchester United are also believed to be tracking FC Porto defender Bruno Alves, a player Real also held a serious interest in. It is thought though that if the English side allow Vidic to head to the Bernabeu, Real would allow them to move for Alves unopposed.
