According to reports in the Spanish and French press, Franck Ribery’s agent Alain Migliaccio has stated that his client will not renew his contract with Bayern Munich. The French wizard’s deal with the German side runs out in 2011 and Migliaccio put forward two possible scenarios. Either Ribery will see out his deal and leave Munich in 2011, or he will move elsewhere in the summer.

The news is sure to lead to a new round of transfer speculation regarding the Frenchman’s possible destination, with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Internazionale all thought to be interested in securing his services. A winter transfer window move though still looks unlikely.

Ribery was widely thought to have agreed this summer to join Real Madrid if a deal could be concluded, which it could not. Common sense would indicate that Madrid remains his preferred option, an option espoused by former France great Zinedine Zidane.

Should Bayern Munich decide to part with their star this summer, which they must surely do to avoid losing him on a bosman free transfer in 2011, it is thought they would look for a fee in the region of €50-60M.
