The Daily Mirror reports Freddy Adu is contemplating a move to Premier League side Hull City after he was released by Portuguese side Belenenses. The American wonder-kid, now a 20-year-old, is reportedly mulling over joining Phil Brown’s side, or Greek side Aris Thessalonika who are also tracking him.
Adu, who was once seen as the United States’ greatest football prospect, became a professional football player at the age of 14 and is the MLS’ youngest player to score a goal. His stock has since taken a downturn however, with disappointing spells at Benfica, AS Monaco and Belenenses seeing him with very little playing time.
