La Liga side Sporting Gijon have confirmed that they have accepted a bid for 24-year-old midfielder Michel from Birmingham City. The Blues are expected to part with around €3.2M to land the Spanish midfielder.

We have convinced the technical staff that this is for the best, because we have to improve the financial situation at the club," said Sporting president Manuel Vega Arango to Sky Sports. “I understand that (coach) Manuel Preciado was keen to limit damage to the squad, but this is what we have to do.”

The transfer is believed to have been agreed to be delayed until Sporting Gijon find a suitable replacement. Atletico Madrid’s teenager Ignacio Camacho is being tipped as the player to fill the void left by Michel.
