According to The Times, Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is eyeing a possible move for Juventus and Italy striker Vincenzo Iaquinta. The 30-year-old, who is currently recovering from a long-term knee injury, has had limited opportunities to impress at the Turin club with a surfeit of strikers limiting him to only 57 appearances since joining from Udinese in the summer of 2007.

Chelsea who are closely monitoring the Iaquinta’s fitness, are believed to be willing to offer Juventus £8M to land the seasoned striker. Ancelotti believes the player’s strength, pace and versatility, will be well suited to Chelsea and the rigours of the Premier League. .

The towering striker, who has played only six games so far this season, played a part in Italy’s 2006 World Cup triumph in Germany.
