Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has reportedly refused to rule out that the club might sell Fernando Torres or Steven Gerrard if they received an extraordinary offer for either, reports The Times and Marca. Benitez had previously stated that were Torres sold then he would quit the club, also making it very clear that this would not happen.

Now though Benitez has given a different reply to the same question. Asked whether a £100M bid for Torres would be automatically rejected the Spanish coach replied, "We would have conversations if we had to decide about this."

With speculation growing over Liverpool’s precarious financial state, Benitez words will do little to ward off interest from clubs such as Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City, who may all feel encouraged that Torres or Gerrard could be snatched from Anfield.
