Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery is hoping to sort out his future before the World Cup starts in June. The Frenchman looks highly unlikely to renew his contract with the German Giants, who he is contracted to until 2011, after the club president revealed they are keen to cut wages.

"There’s a lot of talk about Real Madrid and Chelsea,” Ribery told French channel Stade 2. “It’s true, they are two big clubs. But I don’t think it will be a long soap opera. It will be quick. We will know before the end of the season. In about two, two and a half months’ time. I would want to know before the World Cup.”

The 26-year-old’s latest comments cast doubt over the possibility of a January transfer window acquisition for Premier League club Chelsea, who are in danger of being banned from any transfers in the coming summer.
