Racing Santander’s midfield whiz-kid Sergio Canales has attracted a media whirlwind after his spectacular display in his team’s win over Sevilla at the weekend where he scored two stunning goals. Real Madrid have been front-runners in attempting to snap up the youngster, who has revealed, above everything, just wants to play regular football.

Speaking to Spanish paper Marca, the teenage sensation said, "It makes me happy that I continue to attract interest from clubs, but I try not to concern myself with all of that. I wish to resolve my future as soon as possible and focus on football. I am an 18-year-old boy who wants to play. I want to go to a place where I can get regular minutes.”

Racing Santander are desperate to hold on to their young star and are reported to have offered Canales a new € 800,000 a-year contract.
